Tijana Vujasinovic
Translational Research Coordinator
As Translational Research Coordinator, I support researchers across the Medical Sciences Division in moving their work toward clinical application. This includes securing translational funding, shaping strategic roadmaps, engaging with internal stakeholders and Experts in Residence, managing project lifecycles, and facilitating commercialisation discussions in collaboration with Oxford University Innovation (OUI).
My academic background is in cancer biology, with a PhD from the University of Belgrade in collaboration with Paris Sorbonne University. My research focused on angiogenesis and immune response as prognostic tools in breast cancer. I also hold a Master’s in immunology from the University of São Paulo and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Orléans, exploring cancer metastasis, stem cells, and hypoxia.
These international experiences have given me a strong understanding of translational research needs and pathways. I later transitioned into biomedical project management, leading software implementations for hospitals and biobanks across Europe. Most recently, I worked in Oxford’s biotech sector as a senior scientific advisor, supporting researchers with tools and training in discovery and diagnostics.
My longstanding motivation is to help reduce the burden of common diseases through prevention and precision medicine. Outside of science, I’m a certified yoga teacher and value approaches that connect research with broader human wellbeing.
Joining the Translational Research Office is an exciting opportunity to help accelerate impactful research across the MSD.
